久しぶりの還元焼成！ Reduction firing at last!

昨年に購入した電気窯で初めての還元焼成してみました。
簡単に言うと電気窯の場合、２つの焼き方があります。酸化焼成と還元焼成です。
電気窯の場合、酸化焼成が基本と言うことも言われています。
ちなみに、還元焼成は電気窯とプロパンガスバーナーとガスを使って行います。

新しい窯とマニュアルがあまり好きじゃない私。どうなるかな。
「ガスはこのくらいでいいかな〜　あぁこれやと炎が出すぎ！！」とか。
結局に旦那と２人で窯と炎を見守って、何とか無事に終わりました！

初めてこのタイプの窯で還元をして、窯の癖も少し分かるようになりました。
1回だけで判断できないかもしれないけど、やっぱり前から詰める窯は
ドアあたりが少し弱いスポットになるのかなと思いました？！
後１つのポイントは強い還元にするか弱い還元にするか。
還元が強すぎると窯に余計な負担がかかるので、初めては少し弱い還元でいいかなと〜（＾＾）

This was the first time I tried reduction firing with the new kiln.
There are basically 2 firing methods for electric kiln: oxidation and reduction firing.
Some people say that oxidation is the most basic firing for electric kiln.
In reduction firing, the kiln is used with propane gas burner and of course propane gas.

So the new kiln and me who doesn't like manuals too much. How is it going to go.
"Hmm looks like this could be the proper amount of gas... Oh no, the flames are way too big!!" and so worth.
Finally me and my husband were keeping watch of the kiln and the flames. And everything went fine after all!

The first reduction firing with this type of kiln taught me about this kilns habits.
I can't really be sure after only one reduction, but since this particular kiln is loaded from the front, the area of the front door seems to be the weak spot...
And then there is the issue of whether to do strong or weak reduction.
If it is too strong, it causes excess burden to the kiln, so I thought weaker is better, at least for the first time.

この２つの器はドア（ガスが届きにくい場所？）の一番近くに置きました。
緑色になっている部分には還元がかかっています。茶色の部分は酸化焼成と変わりありません。

These two vessels were closest to the door (which was a difficult place for the gas to reach?).
The green part is reduction firing, the brown part looks like in oxidation firing. Kind of interesting..

窯の奥の方に置きました。還元が全体的にかかっています。
These vessels were the farthest from the door. Completely green.
